Original Bourne movie poster can be seen here.
I set myself a challenge to recreate some movie posters, in my own image, as it were. That is to say, using myself as the subject, and with a touch of my own artistic intent. This has been a fantastic way for me to learn more about using lights, as well as directing poses.
This teaser poster of the 2016 Jason Bourne movie involved creating a diagonal shaft of light. I did this by hanging a couple of towels, at an angle, over a light stand, held in place by clamps, and then firing a flash at high power from quite far back to create the hard edge to the shadow. Because I was working by myself (the remote trigger is in my other hand), it was very time consuming to take a shot, run around to the back of the camera to check my pose, reposition myself and/or the lighting, rinse-and-repeat.
